Starck Architects implemented a modernized prototype design for the Mercedes Benz brand at
Viti Mercedes in Tiverton, RI. The front portion of the existing pre-engineered metal building and
the existing showroom was removed. The exterior façade & showroom were upgraded to the
current Mercedes Benz “Autohaus 3” prototype designed using strategically placed lighting,
flooring materials and video screens to highlight the many luxurious models of Mercedes Benz.
The new front façade was designed using a floor-to-ceiling glass storefront system, allowing
natural light to flood the space during the day and customers to see into the showroom at night.
New sales offices, a reception desk and customer waiting room complete the front of house
program. The existing service reception area was also renovated using a similar palette of
materials as the showroom along with glass partitions to provide privacy while also making the
space appear larger. In the service area, three new oversized maintenance bays were added to
accommodate Mercedes luxury Sprinter van models.
